The new
JISC Five Year Strategy 2001-05 was published in May 2001. A first revision and progress report, the
JISC Strategy Review and Progress Report: 2002-03, which synthesises new issues with the existing strategy and links them with the
major funding council objectives was approved at the meeting of JISC on 25 June 2002.
With a view to writing it a JISC Strategy Steering Committee (JSSC) was established, which identified a number of major themes for consideration, each by a different ‘Think tank'. Each think tank was chaired by a member of the JSSC, and HE/FE representatives from Wales and Scotland were invited to participate commensurate with expertise.
