CREW project

Waste prevention project

Helping to turn the tide on Scotland's growing waste mountain.

> Top tips: for a greener Christmas <

Friends of the Earth Scotland has launched a new and exciting waste prevention project. Communities Reducing Excess Waste (CREW) is a 12-month national waste prevention programme designed to educate and motivate the public.

The project aims to:

  • Recruit and empower community waste prevention champions, by training volunteers keen to promote waste prevention in their local communities.
  • Train and provide the champions with the tools, ideas and knowledge to encourage and motivate householders to reduce their waste.
  • Inform and motivate householders to reduce waste, including personal testimony from people communities directly affected by waste in Scotland.

Free waste prevention workshops available

The training phase of the project is almost complete and we are now in a position to offer free workshops to community groups and organisations. Find out more.
