The primary objectives of the project were to produce: A study of the use of MPEG-2 compression to prepare digital video for medical teaching; and a study of the technical considerations that need to be taken into account to achieve classroom delivery under realistic conditions. Both of these primary objectives were achieved, helping to engender the necessary culture change and training to support the preparation of multi-media teaching material. The JISC JTAP-288 Video Medi-CAL project was funded under the JISC Technologies Application Programme 1996 - 1997.
