Developing a Virtual Campus was a JISC funded research project to investigate the infrastructure required to create and maintain a virtual campus. The universities of Nottingham and Lancaster were involved in the initial development of the virtual campus service, aimed at supporting distributed postgraduate learning. The service itself was based around cooperative virtual reality technologies, presenting a campus environment to the user in 3D. Funding programe: JISC Technologies Application (JTAP) Programme.
