Families Need Fathers (FNF) seeks to ensure that children continue to have contact with both parents following relationship breakdown, believing that shared parenting is in the best interests of children. The charity provides advice and support to affected parents, as well as undertaking lobbying and awareness-raising roles. FNF was established by Alick Elithorn and Keith Parkin, and publicly launched with an article in The Guardian newspaper in June 1974, following personal experience of such issues.
